Helpful to know:
Hopefully all info you need is on the website, but don’t hesitate to get in touch if we can help further
Do you accept dogs?
Currently we do not. We do love them and have one of our own who you might meet, but our site is not securely fenced and we firmly believe that leaving all responsibilities behind is good for us all on occasion!
Can children stay?
Our retreats and suites are adults only, though babes in arms are welcome. The Cowshed has plenty of space and we can provide a travel cot. We just ask that you respect that other guests may be enjoying a child-free break.
Do we need a car?
Not necessarily! We have recently seen an increase in the number of guests who arrive by train and a taxi from Cambridge station. There are a few buses into Cambridge from just outside our gate or a more frequent service a short walk away. Ubers and cabs are about £15-20 into the city centre, or you can just chill out here, preordering food packs and two pubs within walking distance.
Can we bring our bikes?
Cambridge is the perfect city for exploring on 2 wheels. It is about 5 miles into the city centre from here. If you would like to bring your own bikes, there is plenty of space to secure them outside each space. Alternatively hire our ebikes for the day and get a helping hand up the hill!
Are your spaces suitable for those with limited mobility?
The Cowshed is spacious and relatively easy to move around. It has a step to enter, but is on one level inside. Do get in touch for photos and descriptions so you can determine the suitability based on your own needs.
Can we book the whole site?
We do occasionally host groups of family or friends wanting to plan a get-together, but this is very much dependent on the availability and we ask that the privacy and tranquillity of our family and any other guests be respected at all times.
Do you have Wifi?
All our spaces have good fibre broadband wifi, so you can keep in touch. The mobile signal is not always great for some networks though so do enable wifi calling or use WhatsApp.
Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?
We strive to make everyone welcome. We received the ‘Travel Proud’ certification from booking.com in recognition of this. We very much aim to ensure all guests feel relaxed and comfortable from the moment they arrive and are treated with kindness and respect throughout their stay.
Do you cater for special diets?
We have a range of breakfast and dine in options, many of which can be adapted to different requirements. We just ask for prior notice so that special items can be purchased. If you have a severe allergy you are very welcome to bring your own supplies and you will find a full size fridge in your room.
Can we check in early or check out later?
Our check in times are from 4pm, it may be possible to prioritise your room and have to ready from 2pm, but this is subject to availability and is an additional £30. The same applies to checking out later on departure day (nobody ever wants to go home!) we ask that you vacate the room by 10:30am but this may be extended to 12:30pm (subject to availability and for £30)
Can you do something special for a celebration?
We love it when guests book in for a special celebration and are happy to help. We have birthday bunting that we can pop up in your space as a little surprise and lots of treats you can preorder to have waiting for your loved one. Hand-tied bouquets of flowers, delicious Italian patisserie cakes, bottle of fizz and balloons can all be arranged through our local suppliers.
Can we cook in our room?
All our spaces have a small kitchenette to prepare breakfast and light snacks but not an oven or hob. The Cowshed has a microwave. Whilst we encourage guests to make themselves at home, this is a B&B not a holiday let so do take a break from cooking and enjoy eating out, or ordering a feast from us. You are very welcome to enjoy takeaway food in your space but we ask that the rubbish is disposed of promptly so that the rooms stay fresh for the next guests.
