Five miles from the bustling and beautiful city of Cambridge, we are located in a quiet village with walks from the door in all directions including the Pathfinder route.
With easy access to the A14, A428 and M11, with your own vehicle you have easy access into the historic city and a wealth of interesting places to visit within half an hours drive. Many guests use the Madingley rd Park and Ride which is only 10minutes away and offers a reasonable and easy means of visiting the city. Other parking options (including some local secrets!) are provided on arrival.
Though a car is recommended we do have guests who arrive by taxi and use the local bus service, details are available in the room. We have recently installed an electric car charging point which is available for guests to use for a nominal fee.
From M11 (LOndon)
If travelling from the South (London) continue on the M11 until it turns into the A14 north towards Huntingdon. Then follow direction from A14 below.
If travelling from the East (Newmarket) turn off the A14 west onto A14 north towards Huntingdon then follow directions below.
Dry Drayton is signposted off the A14 at junction 30. As you enter the village there is a width restrictor, then after a row of housing on the left there is a second width restrictor. We are the second driveway on the right after this. The entrance is slightly set back from the road behind a timber barn with willow fencing either side of the gate. If you reach a mini roundabout, you’ve passed it!
From A428 (Bedford)
Dry Drayton is signposted off the A428, go through Scotland Farm and continue through Dry Drayton, go right at first mini roundabout and straight on at the second. We are the first turning on the right after that. The driveway is set back from the road with willow fencing either side.
Driving InTo CAmbridge
There are 3 easy routes in and out of Cambridge, depending which part of the city you want to get to or from:
West City (park & ride as well as parking for walking into colleges)
Turn right out of the driveway and continue through the village until the church. Turn left in front of the church (signposted Madingley). Follow this country lane (look out for cyclists and horse riders!) until you enter Madingley. Turn right at T-junction and then left at the mini roundabout. Follow this road past the American cemetery with lovely views over the city until you come to Madingley Road. Turn left onto this main road and the park & ride is on your left after 1/2 mile.
If you want to park nearer to town and walk in, continue on Madingley road until you pass Robinson college on your left and then turn right at the traffic lights onto Grange road. 1 mile down this road there is a left turn into West road. Parking here is reasonable (£1 an hour) and it is a nice walk into the colleges and city from here.
Turn left out of the driveway and right at the AI4 to go over the bridge and onto the A14 south. Keep in the left lane for A14 Newmarket and Cambrudge. Once you’ve filtered left, move to right hand lane for Cambridge. Follow Huntingdon Road towards the city and join the ring road.
Turn left out of the driveway and right at the AI4 to go over the bridge and onto the A14 south. Aa soon as you are on the carriageway, move over to the right hand lanes to go onto M11 south. Continue to the next junction and then turn left onto A603 to Cambridge. Follow Barton road into the City and you will join the ring road.
